Off the Beaten Track Safari in Tanzania – 10 Days

Tour Overview

Off the beaten path The theme for this package is Tanzania. Our 10-day Tanzania safari includes a lodge stay in the Northern Tanzania Circuit, but it can also be done as a basic camping trip. This safari not only takes you to the best wildlife game parks and reserves in Africa, such as the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park, but it also gives you the unique opportunity to experience Africa’s cultural side. This tour gives you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the Hadzabe and Datoga people, the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes who still survive by hunting small wild animals and gathering wild fruits. The Bushmen are another name for them.

Tanzania’s Oldoinyo Lengai Mountain is off the beaten path.

The tour also includes a visit to Lake Natron, where all of East Africa’s flamingos converge every year for breeding before dispersing to their respective lakes. After spending some time in the car, you will have the opportunity to get out of the car and engage in active hiking at the Engaruka ruins, as well as a walk up to the waterfalls for a refreshing atmosphere.

Because the hiking is not particularly strenuous, it can be done by people of all ages who are reasonably fit. Those who have difficulty walking can simply stay at the Lake Natron camp while others go hiking. The camps provide a very relaxing atmosphere, with breathtaking views of the plains and the rewarding sights of the Oldoinyo Lengai Mountain, an active volcano in Northern Tanzania. In Maasai, the volcano’s name literally translates to “God’s Mountain.”
