Tanzania, one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations, is home to some of the continent’s largest and most well-known game reserves and offers fantastic safari opportunities.
The Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater will always provide incredible game viewing, even if it can get crowded at times. If you prefer a more peaceful safari, visit Selous and Ruaha National Parks; the wildlife is still spectacular, but there are few other vehicles.
Further west, you’ll come across the massive herds of buffalo and hippos that make Katavi NP so unique, as well as the chimps of Mahale Mountains NP.

Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, attracts those seeking a challenge, while the sandy beaches of Zanzibar provide a welcome respite for those who would rather not.

Dar es Salaam, Arusha (Mt Kilimanjaro International), and the island of Zanzibar all have international airports.
