Serengeti National Park
A million wildebeest, each driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfill their instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40-kilometer-long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces over 8000 calf
More About Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti’s legendary plains are pounded by over 6 million hooves. More than a million Wildebeest, 700,000 Zebra, and 300,000 Thomson’s Gazelle gather every year, triggered by the rains, to embark on the long journey to new grazing lands. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s first and most famous park, is known for its abundance of Leopard and Lion. The park’s vast reaches aid in the extinction of the Black Rhino and provide a safe breeding ground for the endangered Cheetah. Witness predator versus prey and the Serengeti’s abundant species’ fundamental interdependence, which ranges from more than 500 bird species to 100 dung beetle species.
The Serengeti gives you the feeling of being able to see to the very edge of the planet, with its sun-bleached savannah shimmering to the horizon. This golden horizon is magically transformed into an endless green carpet flecked with wildflowers after the rains. There are also forested hills with termite mounds and rocky kopjes, rivers lined with elegant stands of Fig, Ebony, and Acacia trees stained orange by dust, and rivers lined with elegant stands of Fig, Ebony, and Acacia trees. When a pride of Lions masterminds a siege, focused unwaveringly on their next meal, you may be the only human audience.
Please note that for the best game viewing, we recommend staying in the Serengeti for at least three days. The wildebeest migration is unpredictable, and seeing them depends on the weather and rain. Stay longer if you want to see the main Big cats and Predators as well.
